As a wholesale-only production facility operating on 30 acres, we're dedicated to cultivating the highest-quality, desert-adapted plants for success in Arizona's unique climate. We're looking for a dedicated Nursery Grower to join our stable, expert team.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

As a Nursery Grower, you will be directly responsible for the planning, health, development, and quality of a specific section of our high-value inventory.

Production & Operations Leadership

• Production Planning: Set and manage comprehensive production plans, ensuring all growing stays on budget and adheres to industry best practices.
• Inventory & Purchasing: Order necessary seeds, plants, fertilizer, chemicals, and supplies.
• Cultural Practices: Oversee all stages of the growing cycle, including potting, propagation, pruning, transplanting, and spacing to maximize growth and quality.
• Safety & Compliance: Serve as a leader in enforcing all safety guidelines and directives.

Horticultural Science & Quality

• Nutrient & Water Management: Manage fertilizer applications, soil mixes, and monitor/adjust irrigation systems; order and review external analysis of soil and plant tissues as needed.
• Pest & Disease Control: Proactively scout, diagnose, and implement effective, environmentally responsible Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all plants meet the high aesthetic and health standards required for our wholesale landscape contractor clients.
• Analysis & Innovation: Conduct monthly reviews of growth times and production metrics; make recommendations on variety selections and production methods to continually improve our line.

Coordination

• Work closely with the Yard Manager and production crew to execute daily tasks.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for external suppliers, government agencies, and other company officials as needed.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

• Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working as a grower or senior production staff in a commercial nursery setting (wholesale preferred).
• Horticultural Knowledge: Strong, demonstrated understanding of plant physiology, propagation, and specialized care for drought-tolerant and desert-adapted species (Agave, Cacti, Palms, etc.).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing commercial irrigation systems and implementing IPM programs (pesticide applicator license is a plus).
• Dedication: Exceptional focus on detail and commitment to producing a superior quality product.
• Stamina: Ability to work outdoors year-round in Phoenix weather and perform required physical tasks.
• Location: Reliably commute to or plan to relocate to the Phoenix, AZ 85040 area before starting work (Preferred).

Schedule

This role requires a dedicated approach, including 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional Holidays and Weekend availability required based on seasonal production needs.
