As a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist, you play an integral role in our mission of Making A Difference. In this position you are responsible for providing speech language therapy services to children in a clinic setting. Services are provided under the early intervention, education, and medical models providing therapists with the unique opportunity of being able to gain experience in and truly understand the differences and the interplay between these models of care.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Evaluates and utilizes appropriate standardized tests for accurate diagnosis of speech and communication disorders.
• Develops new and modifies existing IFSP, IEP and clinic goals.
• Completes comprehensive evaluations, establishes treatment goals and develops age appropriate plans of care.
• Provides ongoing therapy services as indicated in the plan of care
• Completes detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of evaluations, re-evaluations, and daily treatment, updates treatment goals and produces regular progress reports.
• Updates clients progress to both families and early intervention staff.
• Participates in at least 1 Community STAR’s sponsored event annually.
• Collaborates with team members regarding continued program development.
• Attends and receives pediatric continuing education units applicable to your SLP license averaging a minimum of 2 classes per year.
• Participates in clinical education by being a clinical instructor for a minimum of 1 long-term student during your first 2 years as a Pediatric Speech Language Therapist.
• Achieves a minimum of 4 on all core values during periodic reviews.
• Completes newsletter articles, chart audits and provides blog ideas when needed.
• Attends weekly staff meetings.

Education and Experience

• Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university required.
• Valid Virginia Speech Language Pathologist licensure.
• Member of ASHA.
• Familiarity with communication, phonological and oral motor disorders.
• CPR Certified.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation (Copy of vehicle insurance if travel is required).
• Ability and desire to work as part of inter-disciplinary clinic.
• Ability to build rapport with clients, their families, and other caregivers.
• Proactive and willing to jump in where needed to support company growth.
• Team player and effective at building and fostering teamwork as well as maintaining composure when dealing with conflict.
• Ability to work well one-on-one and with co-treatment scenarios.
• Strong in verbal and written skills, as well as ability to communicate with a varied audience.
• Active listening skills and ability to adapt to change.
• Willingness to be flexible and be available for patient scheduling based on demand.
• Excellent computer skills
• A positive, patient, and fun demeanor is a must!
• Previous experience in Pediatric Speech Language Therapy is preferred but excellent newer graduates and Clinical Fellows that have completed pediatric rotations could be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary is $66,560.00. Pay will commensurate based on experience.
