As a First Student Part-Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students' day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We're proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed.
A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between.
A guaranteed shift of 2.75 hours per shift, no working nights or weekends unless you want to.
Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available.
$20.49 / hour starting wage.
Paid Behind-the-Wheel Training at $15.00 per hour.
Guaranteed hours - earn 2.75 hours per shift worked. If you work both AM and PM for a full week then you will earn 27.5 hours!
4 Paid Holidays per school year Labor Day, MLK Day, Mardi Gras.

Utilize industry-leading technology to assist with daily routes.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver's license for a minimum of three years.
Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test.
DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Do not have a college degree or high school diploma.
Have military experience.
Are returning to the workforce or looking for a second job.
Are retirees.
