ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with extensive experience with robotics engineering, controls theory, robot simulation, Robotic Operation System and Software development on edge. Excellent business and communication skills are a must to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer open questions. You should be able to work well with clients to understand the business requirements and relevant solution paths.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating packaged Robotics service offerings. Become a trusted advisor to our clients through your work to Integrate architectures and solutions into a comprehensive product roadmap in partnership with Product and Program Management, identifying risks and leading project success Define, analyze and review development requirements to meet defined and anticipated customer needs and system quality and performance standards. Design the control system architecture and interfaces, and implement functionality, typically using a model-based approach. Collaborate with Program management, Systems Engineering, and other cross functional teams to drive product definition, design decisions, team alignment, and day to day program execution. Support resolution of technical issues by working with the cross-functional teams, such as Mechanical, SW, Technology teams, Quality/Reliability, CM, and vendors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a focus on control system design or equivalent experience 5+ years professional experience in robotics and robotics applications 3+ years developing production controls software Extensive experience in C++/Python programming, software design and architecture, and a history of having successfully driven projects to completion. Strong understanding of design patterns and Object Oriented Programming - concurrency and real-time programming Experience developing, simulating, and deploying solutions on mobile robots and robotic arms. Excellent understanding of ROS (Robot Operating System), including ROS2 Control and MoveIt. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience deploying algorithms for path-planning for one or more agents, SLAM in a dynamic environment, verification and validation of autonomous behaviors. Comprehensive understanding of the product development, validation, and support life cycle for a complex vertical product Prior Consulting Experience Ability to meet vigilant .engineering, customer and/or government security screening and background check requirements are required for this role Due to contractual obligations with the U.S. government, this position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) as defined by applicable federal regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced degree in CS, CE, EE, ME or related 8-10+ years professional experience in robotics and robotics applications 5+ years developing production controls software Modeling, simulation and analysis of complex dynamical systems and sensors Vehicle dynamics modeling and tuning.
