Job Title: Network Security Analyst

Job Location- Austin, Texas- Onsite

Job Summary

• Ensure the security of information systems and computer networks.
• Protect the organization against cyber threats, including hacking attempts and malware.
• Monitor network traffic, system activity, and server logs to identify unusual or suspicious behavior.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Investigate security breaches and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement and manage security controls such as firewalls, antivirus, and related security tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, administer, and troubleshoot security-related software and hardware tools.
• Apply and maintain the latest security patches and software updates.
• Develop, implement, and update network and system security controls.
• Evaluate existing cybersecurity tools, technologies, and controls to identify gaps.
• Provide recommendations and implement risk reduction and remediation plans.
• Investigate security incidents and support incident response activities.
• Design, prepare, and present documentation including:
  • Project plans
  • Status reports
  • Briefings and presentations
  • Internal and external stakeholder communication materials
• Conduct research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to understand:
  • Organizational objectives
  • Business processes
  • Security risks, challenges, and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders to:
  • Identify and analyze complex security issues
  • Resolve cybersecurity gaps and risks
• Perform basic project management activities, including:
  • Project charters
  • Risk and resource management
  • Communication and expectation management
• Edit and review technical documentation for:
  • Accuracy
  • Format and clarity
  • Overall cohesiveness
• Manage updates and revisions to technical and security-related documentation.
• Provide regular progress reports and briefing materials as required.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of experience evaluating cybersecurity tools and controls to identify gaps and implement risk reduction strategies.
• 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting project documentation, reports, briefings, and presentations.
• 3+ years of experience conducting research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to assess organizational needs and challenges.
• 3+ years of experience working closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex security issues.
• 3+ years of experience performing basic project management duties, including planning, communication, risk, and resource management.
• 3+ years of experience editing and maintaining technical documentation, including progress reports and briefing materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience evaluating cybersecurity tools, controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
• 5+ years of experience creating and delivering project plans, reports, briefings, and stakeholder communications.
• 5+ years of experience conducting organizational assessments through research and stakeholder engagement.
• 5+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional and external stakeholders on complex security initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience supporting project management activities for short-term and ongoing initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience managing, editing, and maintaining technical and security documentation.
