Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Receptionist for a respected, office-based psychiatric practice providing innovative alternative therapies to patients in the Bay Area. This position is 100% onsite and located in Berkeley, California . POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Medical Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in supporting daily front-office and clinical operations. This role manages scheduling, patient communications, authorizations, and financial coordination while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is highly organized, compassionate, and comfortable in a fast-paced healthcare environment. PERKS:

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Greet patients, live-answer phones, manage voicemails, and respond to inquiries
- Schedule appointments, coordinate intakes, and manage treatment calendars
- Process authorizations, appeals, extensions, and financial documentation
- Collect co-pays, manage payment plans, and review benefits with patients
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and EMR data
- Support office operations, correspondence, meetings, and assigned projects
QUALIFICATIONS: - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Compassionate, professional communication style with patients and staff
- Proficiency with office technology, EMRs, phone systems, and web-based tools
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Medical or healthcare front desk experience
- Ability to manage high call volume and multitask
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: - $26.00 per hour
