What You’ll Do:

As the Hospitality Manager, you will play a key role in all of our tour programming, from organizing local engagement with the surrounding cities and trade, to hosting VIP groups and all other tour types at our distillery. Be a part of developing our hospitality program while being an ambassador for western Kentucky as a whole. The Hospitality Manager role is located in Columbus, KY. Must be willing to commute if not located in a surrounding area.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management: all aspects of the store's operations, including but not limited to sales, customer service, cash handling, inventory management, and scheduling.
  • Hospitality: Hosting guests at the property while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and resolving any customer issues or complaints.
  • Supervision: train, supervise, and motivate tour staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Design: maintain the tone and feeling of a visually appealing store layout that showcases products effectively.
  • Reconciling: Oversee cash register operations and reconcile daily sales transactions accurately.
  • Administrative tasks: such as scheduling, budget management, and reporting.
  • Recruiting: implement strategies to hire qualified candidates for the tour team.
  • Fulfillment: Oversee vendor relationships, ordering, stock levels and supply management to ensure adequate POS inventory.
  • Leadership: daily operations of tours and Lodge to deliver a 5-Star standard.
  • Budget management : track KPIs, and oversee inventory, labor, and cost control strategies to keep operations efficient and profitable.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong Organizational Skills: There are a lot of moving parts in hospitality management, and we need someone who is highly organized and diligent in crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s.
  • Self-Starter: This person should be comfortable in seeking and fulfilling new tasks to be done in downtime between tours. This includes fulfillment of merch and bottle orders, experience ideation, and continuous improvement on the property and guest experience.
  • A Hospitality Mentality: We need a true partner and host that builds partnerships with our accounts, vendors, influencers, the community, local partners and whiskey aficionados and newbies alike.
  • Leadership: This person will be both a facilities manager and host to all of the guests that visit and stay at the Lodge.
  • Creativity: An outside-the-box thinker who’s passionate about storytelling and creation—someone who is inspired by the world of spirits and eager to bring bold, engaging ideas to life across our tour programming.
  • Community Building Skills: Ability to create mutually beneficial partnerships and programs in the local area help to tell our story to a multitude of audiences from sales to consumers.
  • Hospitable: this person should be outgoing, friendly and welcoming. They should also enjoy constant learning and feel comfortable leading tours and being asked questions you might not necessarily know the answer to.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience/knowledge in the bourbon industry is preferred.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant hospitality management experience.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a focus on hospitality and performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
  • Impeccable time management.

·       Must have a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and be able to drive/travel through the designated market area.

·       Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

·       Must be able to work from the Columbus, KY distillery from 10-5 every Friday-Sunday, with travel to the Paducah market 2 days a week.

·       Bachelor's degree strongly preferred (or analogous industry experience/skills).

Preferred :

·      Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience

·      Experience in hospitality programming

·      Strong knowledge of safety management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance
