Smore Labs is a recently funded VC?backed stealth startup building a UGC platform where kids play with AI to create, learn, and share with their friends. We are looking for a talented designer with experience in Unity, a love of fast prototyping, and a passion for breaking new ground using AI. Bring your ideas and be part of this foundational team building a new mobile UGC platform with dozens of 2D and 3D games to teach and entertain. Responsibilities Define and own gameplay and AI?editing systems from concept to live iteration, authoring clear design intents and lightweight specs Prototype directly in Unity, working with prefabs, laying out levels, and tuning moment?to?moment feel Collaborate daily with engineering and art to ship features end?to?end, aligning on goals, constraints, and success metrics Plan and run playtests with kids and parents/caretakers, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable changes while upholding age?appropriate safety Maintain clean design documentation and tuning data, balancing scope, quality, and delivery for a small, focused team Essential Skills and Experience 35 years in game design, ideally on mobile, with a track record of rapid development and iteration with a team Strong Unity skills and experience prototyping and in?editor workflows Solid systems and level design fundamentals, with clear communication of intent through blockouts, scripts, and data across a variety of genres Experience designing for younger players under 13, with attention to readability, accessibility, cognitive load, and safety Bonus: Experience using AI tools in design and development of ideas and gameplay The salary range is $90K to $130K Candidates must be authorized to work and accept new employment in the U.S. Smore Labs is an Equal Opportunity Employer and ADA compliant.
