Civil CAD Designer/Drafter – Water & Wastewater Systems

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Civil CAD Designer/Drafter to join our team in Baton Rouge. The ideal candidate will have technical skills in AutoCAD and experience preparing design drawings for municipal water distribution, wastewater collection, and pumping systems. This role involves transforming preliminary engineering designs into detailed, accurate, and buildable construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD (2D plan and profile, site plans, details, etc.).
• Draft water and wastewater piping layouts, pumping systems, and related infrastructure.
• Convert preliminary engineering designs, sketches, and markups into final construction drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
• Organize drawing sets and maintain project files according to company standards.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and drawing-related support during bidding and construction phases.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of drafting/design experience in civil engineering projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of underground utility systems (water distribution, wastewater collection, pumping systems).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow drafting standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other drafters/designers.
